In Memoriam  🙏 Sanaa Elhosseiny

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Sanaa Elhosseiny on November 27, 2025, at the age of 73. 

After nearly sixteen years living with Parkinson’s disease and courageously facing a bout of breast cancer, Sanaa left this world peacefully, surrounded by her family and held in the compassionate care of Calvary Hospital.

Sanaa devoted more than forty years of her life to nursing—a career that reflected the very essence of who she was. As a nurse clinician at Cabrini and later an oncology nurse at Memorial Sloan Kettering, she was known for her gentle presence, her warm smile, and her unwavering dedication to the well-being of her patients and colleagues. Her kindness was not just something people noticed; it was something they felt.

Born and raised in Alexandria, Egypt, Sanaa immigrated to the United States in the mid-1970s with her husband, Dr. Abdel Elhosseiny, whom she met in medical school. Together, they built a life rooted in perseverance, gratitude, and love. In true immigrant spirit, Sanaa worked at Burger King while preparing for her nursing licensure exams—an early glimpse of the determination and humility that would define her life’s journey. The couple made their home first in Staten Island, NY, and later in Yorktown Heights, NY, where they raised their family.

Above all else, Sanaa was a devoted wife and mother. She leaves behind her beloved husband of fifty years, Abdel, her daughter Rhonda, and her son Rhamey - each of whom carries forward her gentleness, compassion, and strength.

Sanaa touched countless lives with her generosity, empathy, and quiet courage. Her legacy lives on in the people she cared for, the colleagues she uplifted, and the family she cherished beyond measure. She will be remembered always, and missed deeply.
