Girolamo Giovanni Cuppari

Girolamo Giovanni Cuppari M.D., J.D., of Kenilworth, NJ, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 10, 2016, at the age of 81.
He was born in Spilinga, Italy to Rosa and Michele Cuppari. Girolamo grew up in Panaia until he left to attend boarding school in Messina, Italy at San Luigi’s. He graduated San Luigi with high academic honors and received a scholarship to attend the Medical School of La Sapienza in Rome. While at the university, he also accumulated credits in the field of law. Soon after earning his M.D. Cum Laude from La Sapienza, Girolamo went on to earn a J.D. from the University of Palermo.
Upon completing his education, Girolamo left to join his parents in New Jersey. He trained at the Jersey City Medical Center in rheumatology and later on began working at Cabrini Medical Center in New York City, where he became the Chief Medical Officer and a Professor of Clinical Medicine at New York Medical College.Girolamo had an illustrious career in medicine, including numerous publications and honors.
In particular, the Vatican honored him as a Knight of the Order of San Gregorio Magno for his medical service to Cardinal Casaroli.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Alessandra, and his three loving children, Rosa Isabella, Michael Leonard, and Nicholas Francis.
